Municipal wastes and non-hazardous organic-content treatment sludge are weighed at the plant entrance. Waste data is recorded and are directed to the pre- treatment unit. The pyramid-shaped bulks to be forwarded to composting procedure are covered with membranes. This area where the bulk piles are kept is concrete grounds prepared specifically.
These piling areas incorporate necessary air channels in order to aerate the piles homogenously. The areas are also equipped with percolating water channels in order to collect the leachate originating from the piles, which are mixed by the work machines existing in the plant at regular weekly intervals. The dried wastes obtained from the wastes by membrane-covered open composting (bio-drying) process are transported to RDF Plant where they are used for producing Refuse Derived Fuel.
