Refuse‑Derived Fuel (RDF) Production from Waste

Wastes accepted under our license at the RDF Preparation Facility are first preprocessed by considering their calorific values and heavy metal content. As a result of pre‑processing, waste is shredded to small pieces to ensure proper feeding at the cement plant. Wastes at the desired particle size are shipped to cement plants for use as alternative fuel.

Using waste as alternative fuel in cement kilns enables maximum energy recovery from waste. All of the material energy is used directly in clinker production. The inorganic components of the wastes replace necessary raw materials and become part of the cement, so even the non‑combustible fractions are recovered—eliminating the need to remove slag and ash.
